Sunday School Advent Program

Blessings and light to you this Advent season! We had hoped to bring our Sunday School program to you in person with videos, crafts, take-home cookie decorating kits and all sorts of fun things, but that is sadly not possible with the current restrictions. This latest shut-down is yet another challenge to face, but we at the Sunday School team want to offer our support and encouragement to your families by sending some simple resources to help you share the miracle of Christ’s birth with your children.

This year, we will be using The Jesus Storybook Bible Advent packet.  It really is a wonderful resource with a short daily reading, an adventure soundtrack and printable coloring sheets to cut out and hang up either as decorations for your tree or as a growing timeline to Christmas day.

If you don’t have a copy of the Jesus Storybook Bible, no problem! It is all set out so  you can read the original verses from your own bible, or the related story from whatever storybook bible your child may have.  The kindle version is available for download for $5.99 if that would be helpful.

We hope you will enjoy going through this Advent packet with your children and that it is useful to you.  If it seems too much to do this every day, you can easily dip in and out of it; we don’t want it to feel like another thing on your plate.  Please reach out if you need anything else from us.

More Resources available from Group Ministry

Group Ministry has created a Bible lesson that you can watch on YouTube or the script of the Bible lesson can be downloaded for parents to do at home. Soon they will have videos of someone teaching the lesson. The lesson on the right (or below on a smartphone) can be downloaded and used at home! There is a YouTube video of the song for you to play as well! All you need for this lesson is scotch tape!

Activity Pages for Older Kids

Children’s Worship Bulletins has put together a packet of free resources – puzzles and Bible activities on carefully selected topics and Scripture texts – that we have been given permission to share with you all. The bulletins are activity pages, just meant to be folded. I pray these will strengthen you and your family during this time!
